From the National Grange Presidents Annual Address today at the Grange National Convention in Idaho.

"The Grange continues to support extensive testing to prove safety of all new GMO crops. However, until credible scientific studies indicate a real danger exists, Americans should oppose mandatory labeling of GMO products as such labeling falsely implies differences where none exist."

There has been some speculation that the reason for the harsh treatment of the California State Grange and several attempts to throw out our State Master, and seize our office and assets  sprang from the desire by our Members  and the support of our State support and endorsement to get GMO's labeled, that consumers have a right to know what is in our food.

It was in fact a grandmother from our grange that launched the signature gathering campaign to put it on the ballot.

What do you think?

I am often a Conspiracy theorist, and yes - support your theory.  We are a Bee in their bonnet, actually a good place to sting!

The National Grange Master leaves out some very important reasons to take the small step of requiring GMO labeling. How can people make a choice of whether or not they want support the infusion of organisms into nature that create super weeds? or contamine organic farms with unwanted GMOs? What about organic farmer's, don't they deserve to be protected?
