Parasis an orange, insectoid Pokmon that resembles the nymph stage of a cicada. Its ovoid body is segmented, and it has three pairs of legs. The foremost pair of legs is the largest and has sharp claws at the tips. There are five specks on its forehead and three teeth on either side of its mouth. It has circular eyes with large pseudopupils.

Red-and-yellow mushrooms known as tochukaso grow on this Pokmon's back. The mushrooms can be removed at any time and grow from spores that are doused on this Pokmon's back at birth by the mushroom on its mother's back. Tochukaso are parasitic in nature, drawing their nutrients from the host Paras's body in order to grow and exerting some command over the Pokmon's actions. For example, Paras drains nutrients from tree roots due to commands from the mushrooms. The mushrooms are also popular among collectors and have medicinal uses, usually involving extended life. Prior to Generation III, Spore was its signature move.

The anime has shown that Paras can often be found in caves. However, it can also thrive in damp forests. In the Alola region, the mushrooms on its back do not grow well. This is thought to be from a lack of moisture or nutrients.

In The Problem with Paras, Cassandra owns a Paras that is extremely weak, but she needed it to evolve into a Parasect so she could use its giant mushroom to aid her in her medical research. It did so towards the end of the episode.

Multiple Paras debuted in Clefairy and the Moon Stone, where they were removing the mushrooms on their backs. Seymour explained that this behavior was due to someone stringing lights in the caves of Mt. Moon, and implied that this was not good for them.

Three Paras appeared in Securing the Future!, with two under the ownership of different Trainers and the third being wild. They joined the rest of Alola in showering Necrozma with light so it could return to its true form.

In Purrrr-sian, Super Nerd Miles, disguised as Red, used a Paras during an attempt to catch Pika, who was with Yellow at the time. It used its spores, attacking alongside his Persian and Marowak.

The fungus on Paras is identified as tochukaso, an endoparasitoid that replaces the host tissue and can affect the behavior of its insect host. The base insect appears to be a cicada nymph. In concept, it could be inspired by ants that are infected with mushroom spores that take control of the host ant's brain and sprout from its head or back. It may also draw inspiration from Massospora, a genus of fungi which include species that specifically infect cicadas.

The program functions very well. It is capable of editing most aspects of the save file that general users would like it to do (Pokmon, inventory, etc). PKHeX is very good for those wishing to pick up Wonder Cards they've missed or are unwilling to acquire legitimately. It's also capable of removing the "used" flag on Wonder Cards so one may claim the same Wonder Card multiple times. This is great for sharing those exclusive Pokmon with your friends. Occasionally errors occur, though I've yet to experience anything persistent. Much unlike my experience with Micro$oft's Movie Maker, which constantly crashes. Overall, PKHeX is great tool for those wishing to edit their save files, regardless of one's reasons or justifications for doing so.

Couldnt be more thankful for this program the only down side that im aware of is not being a legal checker for all generation pokemon unless there is a program already out there for it, as some moves are previous generation pokemon so sometimes when I make them there might be another move that its not meant to have as its really tedious to search up every detail, but I won't complain here as nonetheless this program is a huge shortcut itself and allows me to do what I need and recieve the pokemon I can't obtain since black and white I got rid of all my pokemon games so at the moment only have everything X&Y and onwards. Keep doing what you're doing best.

A great Program for those, who haven't enough time to breed competitive Pokemon. Just seems, that the last update somehow broke the legality checking. All my Mons are illegal when i view them, even those i already used online without any problem. When i then klick on the "Illegal"-Sign, a message shows up and says "Legal!". When i click "View" on the same (seemingly legal) Pokemon, it says "Illegal" again. But its not that much of a problem, just be careful what you do, if you want to use your genned Mons online.

Can you bring back the ability to generate Action Replay Codes like what Pokegen can do? I would do it the way everyone else does but due to my 3DS not having anything like JK Save Manager and it being too complicated to get custom firmware due to updates from Nintendo, I'm forced to have to use PokeGen to put the Pokemon I want in Pokemon White and then transfer over to Pokemon Bank. As for Gen 6 and 7, well with those I have to use Powersaves which is abit longer but I can put up with it.

Wow, this is very handy for speeding up breeding, EV training, and leveling up for Pokmon VGC competitions !

Though now that pokemon bank and poke-transporter have been updated...I look forward to how this program will evolve.

Amazing for editing files! Two peices of Constructive Criticism When you select 'Give all (NOT LEGAL!)' and you go into a store and go onto the preview section, nothing shows up. Also, if you go online you will get banned from Game Sync, Rating Battles and some other features. It doesn't matter to me, but I thought I would tell you

There are a lot of spooky elements in Pokemon. As well as the obvious Ghost Pokemon, there are also Dark Pokemon, some pretty twisted Psychic Pokemon, and the whole tragedy of Marowak. For all the unsettling stories and creatures in the world of Pokemon though, none are quite so depraved as Parasect.

For that reason, many of us miss out on the Lovecraftian nightmare that is Parasect. The Cthulhu kind of nightmare, not the racist kind. Parasect seems like a natural evolution of Paras; it goes from a little crab thing to a big crab thing, and it ditches its twin mushroom bunches for one big mushroom cap. Hey, no giggling at the back there.
