Dear SAFE Supporter,
October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.  SAFE is hosting two transformative FREE events in Detroit and is supporting several other organizations awareness events.  SAFE is continually focused on its mission to assist survivors of domestic violence become financially self-sufficient from abuse.  
Please read our newsletter below and mark your calendar for our many upcoming events and community initiatives including SAFE's O.P.E.N. for Business Conference and SAFE's Health & Wealth Expo which will be held October 12 - 13, 2012 in Detroit , Michigan .

SAFE's Health & Wealth Expo

Sisters Acquiring Financial Empowerment, The Srere Women's Care Fund, and DMC Sinai Grace Hospital Proudly Present the 2012 SAFE's Health & Wealth Expo 
Which will be held Saturday, October 13, 2012, from 10:00 am until 3:30 pm at the Northwest Activities Center located at 18100 Meyers Road , Detroit , Michigan . SAFE's Health & Wealth Expo is a free event open to men and women.  Workshops will highlight topics such as healthy living on a budget, stress reduction, job seeking tips, domestic violence awareness and personal finance.  Other highlights include free lunch for the first 750 attendees, health screenings, community resources, interviewing and resume tips, free massages and sample packs from various sponsors.  Over 750 people attended the last Expo and over 1,200 community members are expected to attend this year. 
 
 
 
 
Vendor opportunities for for-profit businesses are available at the "Health" sponsorship level ($250) and above.
 
Nonprofit organizations can obtain a community resource table for a donation of $50.  We have 12 resource table waivers to support nonprofit organizations in obtaining a community resource table.

SAFE's O.P.E.N. for Business Conference

SAFE's O.P.E.N. ( Opportunity , Preparation, Entrepreneurship, Networkingfor Business Conference for Survivors of Domestic Violence
Designed to support survivors of domestic violence in starting their own micro-enterprise. Key topics include starting, growing and sustaining a business along with supplementing current earnings to become 
self-sufficient. This conference will be held Friday, October 12, 2012 from 9:00 am - 3:30 pm at a confidential location for 75 survivors of domestic violence.  To maintain participant confidentiality, location information for this event will only be given to registered attendees.
