Community Leaders,
Rep. Young has two important events coming up in October, and we invite you to attend and share the details in your newsletters, email blasts, and social media channels.
The first event is the Domestic Violence Awareness Walk. Domestic violence affects people in every community across our state, regardless of age, economic status, sexual orientation, gender, race, religion, or nationality. Join us on Saturday, October 11, starting at 10 a.m. at 20700 Fenkell St, Detroit. Wear purple to help “paint the city purple” as we stand together to end abuse. Please let us know if you will be attending by RSVPing at (517) 373-2576 or emailing stephan...@house.mi.gov.
Our October Community Conversation will be held on Monday, October 13. October is both Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Fire Prevention Month, and these critical issues will be the focus of our discussion. We will have a special guest joining us to talk about domestic violence legislation we are currently working on. The event will take place on Monday, October 13, at 10 a.m. at the Grandmont Rosedale Development Corporation, 19800 Grand River Ave, Detroit, MI 48223. We hope you can join us in person, but if not, you can watch the event live anytime on my Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/RepStephanieYoung.
