2nd Annual Farm Route to Prosperity Summit

When: 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., April 9, 2010
Where: Black Star Farms, near Suttons Bay
Plus: Happy Hour wine bar at 4:00 p.m.

Calling all food enthusiasts, farm and food businesses, agricultural
agencies, and economic development interests! Northwest Michigan's
2010 Farm Route to Prosperity summit is the place for your insight and
expertise.

Join us for a day of networking and taking next steps toward the 10-
year goal that 100 regional food and farm leaders set at last year's
summit as part of achieving the region’s Grand Vision: To increase the
resilience and double the value of northwest Michigan's food and farm
system by 2019.

Space is limited, so please RSVP with the Michigan Land Use Institute
at 231-941-6584 or email foodandfar...@gmail.com. Please also
bring a $10 donation to cover lunch.

What We'll Do
§ Take stock of current initiatives and progress.
§ Work in small groups on specific ideas, including those you bring
to the summit.
§ Decide next steps for building a regional network that is useful to
you, your colleagues, and neighbors.

Who Should Attend
§ People who are trying to get things done: Farmers, bankers,
educators, neighborhood groups, elected officials, health
professionals, community gardeners, chefs, nutritionists, government
agencies, students, business leaders, and more.
§ Anyone who wants to meet and work with any of these people!

To learn more about the summit and the regional Food and Farming
Network that has been developing since last year's inaugural event,
please visit www.FoodandFarmingNetwork.org.

And while you're at it, tell us more about your food and farm
interests by completing the questionnaire you'll see there. Your
information will help us learn more about who's doing what and how a
regional network can help.

We hope to hear from you through the questionnaire, and see you at the
summit!

Sincerely,
Patty Cantrell
Michigan Land Use Institute

Don't forget to RSVP! And please bring $10 with you for lunch.
