Dear ones,

How are you all doing? In the previous Action Learning Saturday, we visited Gandhi Ashram,  a place that holds values and legacy and spent morning hours cleaning the Toilet Museum till we were sweated out. The experience strengthened the belief of service and labour as a way to connecting with our own-self.

Keeping the churning alive, we thought of spending this Saturday getting inspired by the movies.

" छोरियां ज्यादा पढ़ लिख लेगी तो लगन कौन करेगा"

"कल्पना का मर्द अपनी मर्जी से मेरे पास आता है तो मेरी गलती "

These are a couple of dialogue from the movie PARCHED we're inviting you to watch  with us this Saturday, 26th August.

Synopsis: Parched is the story of four women in a desert village of RajasthanIndia. The village and the society are plagued by several social evils, age-old traditions and practices of patriarchy, child marriage, dowry, marital rapes and physical and mental abuse.

Genre: Drama
Language: Hindi
Duration: 118 minutes

Women have the right to decide what they want. They can articulate their needs and desires. And they have the power to put a stop to abuse and voilence is what this story of hardships tells us while giving a happy ending . Though the story is based in a rural setting, we're all a part of society which has caught us into conditioning.

You're free to bring some snacks. :D We will have little time to chit-chat after the movie over coffee. :)
