Rick Holder
Laura Brody
He died sometime during the night. Details of his death will come out
soon enough, but I choose to remember how he lived and the light he
brought to so many of our lives. There are no words to describe the
sadness I feel for his family and the friends who loved him so dearly.
He was a remarkable human being in his kindness and dedication to our
community and to everyone he touched. It is hard for me to imagine a
world without Rick.

I did not know Rick as well as some as since high school we only talked to 2 to 3 times. We found we shared relationships through others we had met in our separate occupations and found we had similar interests. Our calendars kept interfering with our plan to have that drink at the Farmer and the Chef (?).

For those who are interested in Rick 's funeral arrangements, I have received this info tonight.The visitation is at First Presbyterian Church, Tuesday 6-8, & the funeral is on Wed. at 11:00. Please check just in case there is a change.
We all need to come together to celebrate Rick's life.

I was driving through South Carolina coastal plain last week on the
way to Myrtle Beach and saw all the cotton ready for harvest..
I thought about Ricky and his work with L. Harvey.
I recalled the most recent conversations with him about Felix and my
Dad. These were during our reunion.
I just naturally broke in to a grin at the thought of him.
As I was coming down from a deer stand this afternoon Danny Bell
called me and gave me the news. We both reveled in Ricky's warmth and
caring nature. He was the first person to get with Danny when the web
site and reunion came up. He made Danny feel welcome and at home.
We all have suffered a loss. Who's gonna drive the bus now?
My deepest sympathies to his family, coworkers, and to those of you
that I know were closer to him than I.
He is already missed.
