Hello,

Can it possible to run Activiti Plugin with Grails 2.4.x? I'm interested in this plugin but I need to know if it will be possible migrate to 2.4 in a near future.

Thanks

Best Regards

Hi there,

Thanks for your interest into the plugin.

To answer your question, Yes. However, I couldn't find time to merge the changes from a contributor at the following URL:
https://github.com/limcheekin/activiti/pull/22

Hope this clarify. Thank you.

Best regards,
Chee Kin

Will maintenance of this plugin keep up with Grails versions or will we have to look for alternative projects that can.

This is the second time in two months that I've tried to upgrade my application that I've hit this roadblock.

Any update on this?

Is there a provisional date for when the plugin will be upgraded?

I'm in the same situation as @Bryan. Activiti is the last plugin blocking me from upgrading of an application

Fast forward to December 2014. Will this plugin be supported forward? We definetly need to use Activiti, and I to convince my peers that it should run together with Grails, I need something that works.

I can fix some of the problems in the plugin (ConfigHolders and ApplicationHolders replaced with Holders) but I would preferer that I can download the plugin from Grails plugin central not from my local build.

Please let us know, what the status is. It's fine that you say, "no, I can not support it any more" as this would give others a chance to take over the development.

With kind regards,
Søren Berg Glasius

Hi there,

Thanks for writing and appreciate you found the plugin useful.

I can not support it until I used it in the project I am working on.

Best regards,
Chee Kin

Søren,

I've just switched over to Camunda, a fork of Activiti.

They have a Grails plugin that has active development and supports Grails 2.4.

Switching it out was a breeze, just had to change the paths of the Activiti libs in the code and not much other changes.

Hi,

I just published the grails-activiti-plugin to bintray (https://bintray.com/alephsa/maven/grails-activiti-plugin/view) updated to activiti 5.17.0. you  can add Alephsa's maven repo in your BuildConfig.groovy (mavenRepo 'http://dl.bintray.com/alephsa/maven') and add the dependency compile ":activiti:5.17.0".

Also the activiti-spring-security plugin (compile ":activiti-spring-security:5.17.0") has been updated to spring security 2.0-RC4.

Both are compatible with grails 2.4 (tested on 2.4.4). Alephsa will be updating the plugins with the new releases of activiti during 2015.

Please let me know if you have any issue.
