Hey, I'm "that guy" who raised the hidden-png data question some
months ago (I'm not the guy who posted it here, that's the game dev,
I'm the artist who told them they had an awful lot of pixels just
"alpha-ed over").
To the point.
I'm a pixel artist, and I'm providing graphics for a lot of projects.
Most of them for free, some of them I get paid.
And my tool of the trade is GrafX2. In fact, I wouldn't be able to
pull the same stunts with other programs, since I've "grown" with
GrafX2 in pixel-artsy stuff, ever since before it was resurrected and
all we had was an ms-dos version with loads of "to be implemented!"
prompts. I only switch out of GrafX2 (to the gimp) in order to change
images to RGB when needed, and to add transparency.
Besides that project which already showed up (I'm not active in it
right now, I'll return to it when I'm less busy u_u) I'm providing
graphics for three roguelikes (one of them animated), a top-down
shooter, and an iPhone game (Without taking into account other two
other projects where I'm not part of the team, but just wandered in
and said "hey, I'm going to make a new tileset!")
Since you seemed interested in Allacrost, or at least curious about
it, it sounds likely that you're interested in projects where *all*
the art assets or at least most of them are made with GrafX2
