Friends and Colleagues,

Please help out low income immigrant families around you (some of whom are our family members and/or us). See the message below from the ED of Jubilee Immigration Advocates.

I’ll also add that this administration is proposing a $50 fee for asylum seekers and to increase the DACA form fee by 54% and the marriage-based Green Card (Legal Permanent Resident) requests by 56%!

Let’s stop this! Get the word out.

In solidarity,

Dear Friends,

I am writing to ask that you consider submitting a public comment opposing the Trump Administration's proposal to increase immigration application fees. This proposed fee increase will disproportionately affect low income immigrants who are seeking to apply for a green card or to become a U.S. citizen. The government has already eliminated fee waivers for folks who receive means-tested benefits such as food stamps, Medi-Cal or government cash assistance. With this proposed fee increase, the citizenship application fee would go up by 83%, from $640 to $1170. The government also wants to use over $207 million of the fees collected to fund ICE enforcement.

Please join us in advocating for our immigrant communities by opposing these changes. All public comments must be submitted no later than December 16, 2019. See HERE for more information on resources and how to submit a comment.

Best,
Amy
