Please see the request below from a Puente Program in San Jose looking for someone to lead a campus tour on Wednesday, May 2nd from 9:30am-10:30am This is a great opportunity to share your experiences with higher education with first-generation high school students. If you would like to help with the tour and/or know of anyone who might be available to do so please reply back and let us know.

In terms of who my students are, they are a part of the Puente Program, which was created by University of California system. It recruits students of color who interested in challenging themselves in a rigorous language arts program and are first generation high school and/or college students. We are hoping that a tour of your university will help them envision themselves at a campus such as your own and to inspire them to attend four-year universities.

I have contacted your university’s official campus tours department, but they are unavailable on this day and/or time. However, upon reading the description of your organization, I feel as though you are just as qualified to showcase the university as well as help communities of color.

Please let me know if you are interested and if we can create a partnership for this date. Thank you for your time and consideration!
