Although we have only recently completed the successful and stimulating meetings of the Commission in Japan, it is already time to begin preparing for Poland in 2014!

 

Please see the attached message from the organizers and also contact the Gender Commission Chair, Shirlena Huang (geos...@nus.edu.sg) if you are interested in organizing or participating. There will be  the opportunity in Krakow and the Commission is also exploring holding its own eeting prior to the main Congress, possibly in Warsaw.

Attached please find information about the 2014 Regional Conference of the International Geographical Union, to be held in Krakow, Poland, on 18-22 August 2014. The theme of our conference is CHANGES, CHALLENGES, RESPONSIBILITY and we believe that it will be an event bringing together geographers from all over the world and contributing to a better understanding of the changes and challenges faced by the world and our discipline as well as the responsibility we all share.

 

We invite you to submit a session proposal, which will be included in the official call for papers. The deadline for submitting a session proposal by the IGU Commissions is 15 October 2013 (please see the submission form attached) and registration for the conference starts on 1 November 2013.

 

Please distribute the information about the 2014 Regional Conference of the IGU among the members of your Commission and among the institutions and associations that you cooperate with.
