preferred. The department seeks a
Geographer with expertise in Remote
Sensing OR Cartography that complement but not duplicate strengths in
environmental geography. Desirable specialties include but are not
limited to spatial analysis and modeling, LIDAR, cartographic design, or
web cartography. Technical expertise in GIS is required.
Teaching duties will include core courses in the general education
curriculum (e.g. Human-Environmental Problems) and courses in
Cartography and Remote Sensing. The candidate is also expected to
develop upper-level courses in areas of expertise and to have an active
research agenda, seek external research funding, and publish scholarly
articles. This position requires a strong commitment to undergraduate
education, which includes involvement in the department's internship
program and the University's undergraduate research program. The
