DC Metro GLBT Studies Symposium: Scholarship to Action, has been
organized by three of our local universities, American, GWU and Mason.
There are many great workshops, poster sessions on some REALLY amazing
LGBTQ topics, and keynote from Mara Keisling of the National Center
for Transgender equality - Students from a bunch of local schools are
presenting, including two folks from Mason and a couple of Mason
alums.

The Symposium is open to everyone. Workshops and presentations in the
past have included discussions about national, local and campus
activism and identity issues as well as research (a paper someone has
written or project someone has completed for class) on laws and sub-
cultures in the GLBT community and MUCH more. The symposium offers a
unique opportunity to both present on and explore a range of issues
affecting the GLBT community. Presentations will be 50 minutes each
and can take a variety of formats.
