They changed the way AAPT and Android Library Projects work. This will most definitely affect us.

It surely will. Looks to me that library projects are finally going to be at least a little bit usable, let's wait and see.

Changes in Ant tasks are usually small and easily resolvable.

exactly. It also looks like this was partly a preparatory release, with lots of under-the-hood changes that prepare for more changes in r15.

I was about to start thinking about how we can adopt Maven's apklib artifact type into Gradle when I read all this. For now it looks like it's better to wait and see what happens on the Google front. Perhaps there will be a straight forward way for us to support Android library projects by simply using official tooling within Gradle. Lack of library support is currently my major concern with Gradle/Android.
