Charting a New Course ECAP - Extended Session! Lost a job, retired and bored, or just off course with your current job? This program will help you develop a pathway to a new career. Make sure to have yours done and bring it along! Getting to Financial Independence ECAP (1st of eight sessions starting on November 26th) Caught in a downward financial death spiral? Maybe you're already at the bottom. There is hope! This program will help you pull yourself out of free fall and then plot an achievable pathway toward real retirement. Program Cost: Available to members only at no additional fee except for the cost of the book. What is it like to be an entrepreneur? At Willoughby Library, Willoughby Meeting Room WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 21st : This year-long adventure will teach you the skills of blogging and associated social media; help you to clarify your area of expertise and build your brand in the marketplace; give you real time feedback from your target market; teach you how to use blogging as a revenue channel; teach you how to write a book; and,establish you as a published author. (No program this week due to Thanksgiving) Self-employment Brain Trust Note: We define, and measure the term "wealth" as the number of days you can sustain yourself without working. Format: This is an ongoing brain-trust group made up of those who have prioritized financial independence (read as: retirement) as a major goal. Members of this group will study more advanced materials and learn through sharing and discussion around specific issues and practices. The "Getting to Financial Independence ECAP is highly recommended - though not required - precursor to this group. (No program this week due to Thanksgiving) (No program this week due to Thanksgiving) Coffee and Networking at 7:30 a.m. One-on-One Coaching and Goal-Setting Transitioning a career at any age is a challenge that is tough to handle on our own. Thursday mornings offer you a time to meet one-on-one with someone who will help you set some attainable goals and put together a plan to achieve those goals. (Not available this week due to Thanksgiving) (Coffee and Networking at 7:30 a.m.) Job Search Discussion Group This highly interactive session starts with a round robin to talk about real issues and obstacles being faced by attendees. Then we move on to look at tips for getting ahead in the age 50+ job search market. *We highly recommend the website Nifty50s for great tips on the age 50 + job search process. (No program this week due to Thanksgiving) Encore Career Accelerator Program (No program this week due to Thanksgiving) Getting to Financial Independence ECAP (2nd of eight sessions on November 29th!) The Monday Morning Career Transition Speaker Series (8:00-9:00 a.m.) and Wednesday evening Upgrading Your Career programs (6:00-7:30 p.m.) are open to non-members. We request a $5.00 free-will donation from non-member attendees, paid at the door. Access to the full programming schedule is available to members at a $40/month fee. Members may need to purchase books for some programs and pay additional fees for advanced programs. Registration is required only where indicated. You may just show up and join us for all other programs! "Starting a Business" programs alternate between the Willoughby Public Library and Mentor Public Library as indicated in the program schedule.
