The latest Pulse Asia Survey, conducted on March 16-20, showed the political-dynasty issue taking a toll on senatorial candidates closely identified with politically influential families.
 
The other senatorial candidates clinging to the apron strings of their better-known relatives are Grace Poe and Jun Magsaysay, both of Team PNoy, and JV Ejercito Estrada of the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA). Their television commercials, tarpaulins and posters, and handbills use their famous relatives, dead or alive, to push their candidacies.
 
With the country now rated investment grade, it should be easier for the government to lure more job-generating foreign direct investments. Mindanao in particular can use more investments both foreign and local. The southern part of the country is home to some of the poorest provinces and conflict areas. Jobs and livelihood opportunities not only will ease poverty but also improve the peace and order situation.

A person who handles logistics for a local candidate told me that a reasonable campaign budget per district in Metro Manila during the official campaign period is P6 million.
 
The people of the Philippines, especially the poor comprising 90% of the population who are supposed to be P-Noy’s “boss” according to him, have not seen or felt reforms in government that have improved their lives even after P-Noy has been in office for almost three years already.

Former Sen. Dick Gordon recently posed a question to fellow candidate Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano which many had wanted to ask but have not been able to do so.

Nagsimula  na ang kampanya sa local politics kung kaya’t  maaga pa lang, hindi pa sumisikat ang araw, ay sari-saring campaign jingle na ang papasok sa tenga na talaga namang ikakairita mo dahil pawang pampapogi lang sa mga kandidato.
 
Marami  ang tiyak na lalapit at magpapapogi na naman ngayong election 2013 at kabilang na riyan ang sangkatutak na partylist na karamihan ay wala namang ginawa para sa kapakanan ng masang Filipino.
 
Hindi na magkandaugaga sa pangangampanya ang mga mababantot na pulitiko  sa iba’t ibang panig ng bansa. Ilang araw na lang kasi ang natitira, Election na! Habang bilang na lang ang araw ng paghihintay sa botohan, parami naman nang parami ang mga nagkalat na pangit na mga mukha ng kandidato sa mga kalsada at iba’t ibang establisimento.
 
Naalala ninyo pa ba ang panahon noong naghaha­rian pa ang administrasyon ni dating Pangulong at ngayon ay Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo?
 
Abalang-abala na sa kampanya ang local at national candidates para sa 2013 elections.
