Hi All,

An important transportation equity project is up for a vote this month!

Specifically, a dedicated bus lane is one of the options for the re-design of the King Street service road near the Bradlee shopping center. Please support this option to give people an alternative to being stuck in traffic.

Requested action: Speakers are needed for the 7 pm June 24 Traffic and Parking Board meeting! Please contact Grassroots Alexandria member Jim Durham (JimDu...@outlook.com) if you might be interested and /or have questions.

Background: Forcing buses to operate in mixed traffic on this service road significantly degrades on-time performance of three high-ridership DASH routes (31, 36A, and 36B). Staff is proposing a dedicated west-bound bus lane for better (faster and more reliable) bus service.

Please keep in mind that more bus riders = safer streets (fewer people driving). The dedicated bus lane option includes a two-way separated bike lane (cycle track).

Thanks!

Jonathan
