Join us for Get Out the Vote! Dear VOICE friends and fellow Alexandria justice-seekers, You are enthusiastically to join VOICE and Tenants and Workers next week, from Wednesday, May 29 to Saturday June 1, for nonpartisan Get Out the Vote (GOTV) doorknocking in Arlandria and the West End. Our goal is to ensure that every voice is heard in this vital local June 18 primary! This primary election will decide our next Mayor and potentially all of our City Council members. Historically, voter turnout for this primary has been low, which means our efforts are more important than ever, particularly if the voices of the most vulnerable in the city are going to be heard. This canvass will be strictly nonpartisan - we won't promote any particular candidate - we are instead focused on engaging lower propensity voters. This is the perfect opportunity to engage your members and volunteers in our civic life locally while building relationships across diverse lines. In this election housing, behavioral health, and other key priorities are on the line. Let's make sure every vote counts and that our community's needs are at the forefront. Whether you and your community can do a single shift or all five, your participation is key.
