Wednesday May 20, 10am EDT, No More Business as Usual: Power Back to the People Mobilization

From: United for Democracy

Supreme Court justices just cancelled a May 20th appearance before Congress to ask for taxpayer dollars - just days after making decisions gutting voting rights and fair representation across the country.

Congress cannot treat this like business as usual.

At a time when people are struggling with rising costs, barriers to healthcare, and a political system that too often feels disconnected from ordinary people, Americans deserve accountability from the powerful institutions shaping our lives.

Where: Taft Memorial Carillon, 1 Louisiana Ave NW, Washington, DC 20001

Callie and Delilah, “Attorneys at Law”*, hereby summon you to a burlesque and variety “tribute” to crime, justice, and lovers of both!

This term’s docket features a roster of your favorite repeat offenders, all prepared to present the court with compelling bodies…of evidence!

One more event this week:

Sunday May 24, 9am, to Tuesday May 26, 7pm, 86 the Arch Vigil and Rally

From: Third Act DMV

Third Act DMV is holding an “86 the Arch” vigil from Sunday, May 24 at 9:00 am until Tuesday, May 26 at 8:00 pm. The three-day vigil and rallies will be held over Memorial Day, the most solemn day of the year at Arlington National Cemetery. We will use the significance of the day to protest the massive “Triumphal Arch”, planned by Trump to be the “biggest one” in the world, to honor “me.” We believe that this Arch violates the basic dignity of those who fell when protecting our country and is disdainful to all of us who support / believe in our democracy.Sunday, May 24 at 9:00 am through Tuesday, May 26 at 7:00 pm

When: Sunday, May 24 at 9:00 am through Tuesday, May 26 at 7:00 pm
