Grassroots Alexandria Monthly Action Meeting!
When: Thursday August 7, 7-9pm
Where: 3801 Mt Vernon Ave (TWU building), 22305
What: This will be a joint meeting of project leaders and team members
working on Alexandrian Human Rights, Education, Environment, Housing
Equity, and Transportation Equity. We will be updating each other on
immediate concerns, such as participation in local protests, local
school policies, housing policy, and human rights initiatives. We will
discuss ongoing projects: "community voices," local tenant rights,
climate/transportation/equity, immigration, Palestinian human rights,
student health and achievement in ACPS, and much more.
At our meeting, we will check in with each other, hear from project
leaders, and consider next steps. Everyone is encouraged to attend and
ask questions. People who would like to participate in the GrA Reading
Group can share a thought or two about the latest reading during
check-in. We will be discussing chapters 13-16, of On Tyranny, by
Timothy Snyder.
Grassroots Alexandria works in small groups focused on specific
projects. We hold an action meeting on the 1st Thursday each month. New
volunteers are always welcome (and needed) to join us and learn about
our work. Info for new volunteers is posted here:

We look forward to seeing you there!
