We are encouraging everyone to observe the May Day general strike (no school, no work, no shopping).

Our friends in Free DC and many other organizations are inviting folks to come to the Washington Monument on May Day, Friday May 1, and meet the many organizations fighting for a welcoming multi-cultural democracy

Please scroll down and have a look

12PM at the Washington monument. We've been building towards this.

Jonathan,

This Friday, thousands of people will come together to disrupt business as usual in DC and show what it looks like when we stop cooperating. Will you be part of it?

May Day will be our biggest chance yet to halt our compliance and to start choosing one another instead. The biggest action of the day will be a march led by immigrant workers starting at noon. Join us at the Washington Monument at 12 PM on Friday.

More than 50 organizations are partnering together on the May Day march. Here’s where to find us on the Washington Monument grounds on Friday:

Free DC will be joining the action and we’re in good company. We Are CASA, Care in Action, SPACEs In Action, 32BJ SEIU, the Metropolitan Washington Council AFL-CIO, Congregation Action Network, Washington Interfaith Network, Families Not Feds, and Metro DC DSA  together with Advancement Project Action Fund, AFL-CIO, Anti-Racist DC, Claudia Jones School for Political Education, CODEPINK DC, Communist Party of the District of Columbia, DC Abortion Fund, DC Action, Eastern Shore Indivisible, EmpowerEd, Federal Unionists Network-DMV, Federal Workers Alliance for Democracy, Greenpeace USA, Jewish Voice for Peace-DC Metro, Jews United for Justice, Just Peace Ministries, League of Women Voters of the District of Columbia, Metropolitan AME Church, Metro DC Chapter of the Coalition of Labor Union Women, Migrant Solidarity Mutual Aid, Montgomery County Jewish Collective, Mothers Outreach Network, Movement for Freedom, Muslims for Just Futures, Nonprofit Professional Employees Union, Planned Parenthood, Rising Organizers, St. Augustine Social Justice Advocacy Ministry, Task Force for Democracy, The Festival Center, Third Act DC, Third Act DMV, Third Act Maryland, Third Act Virginia, Washington DC Branch American Association of University Women, Washington Interfaith Network, We Are CASA, We of Action Virginia, and Zero Hour will all be there. We want you to be part of it too.

This May Day, stop your cooperation with occupation and deportation. Make your plans now for a day of No Work, No School, and No Shopping, and organize your friends to do the same.

Concert + Celebration

After we take action together on Friday afternoon, join us in the evening to center our joy and celebrate! Join us for a May Day Concert and Celebration on Friday starting at 5 PM with musical performances by TOB and Soroche, plus special guests!

This concert isn’t taking place just anywhere. We’ll be at the House of Labor — the AFL-CIO headquarters — located on the former Black Lives Matter plaza, a clear reminder that we need leaders who will side with the people, not this regime.

Join us on Friday at 12 PM to march or at 5 PM to celebrate, and we’ll see together what it looks like when we stop cooperating.

In solidarity,

Free DC
