Hi All,

This news update comes for from our allies in NAACP Alexandria. I clicked through to their news release and learned that Governor Youngkin is accused of non-cooperation in legally required diversity/equity/inclusion actions and transparency actions.

There is more. Please have a look

Jonathan

On Monday, the Virginia State Conference filed a lawsuit against the Governor for violating the Virginia FOIA Act with the Richmond City Circuit Court. We announced the filing during our press conference.

At Monday's press conference, we also provided a report on our 2024 Legislative Agenda and the Governor's actions during the General Assembly session. Rev. Bailey was joined by Gaylene Kanoyton, Karen Campblin, Tracey Hardney-Scott, Ty'Leik Chambers, and Valerie Slater, Executive Director for RISE FOR Youth, to discuss legislation we championed. We were also joined by several executive committee members and Branch leaders from Henrico, Hanover, and Richmond.

Also, it has been announced that Tyee Mallory will be joining the Biden-Harris Campaign. Tyee's work as our Legislative Coordinator for the past two years has been exemplary. Her knowledge of the legislative process and the NAACP has been invaluable to our legislative advocacy. We will miss her and wish her continued success!
