🌷🚫 in preparing for the Mayday Strike! 🚫🌷

Friday May 1, all day, May Day DC (general strike)

From: https://www.maydaydc.org/details

Are you ready to rise up for DC and commit to join us for a day of no work, not school, and no shopping on May 1? Pledge to participate via our pledge form linked below.

We encourage businesses in DC to close on this day and for workers to join us at the Washington Monument at 12:00 PM.

Countries around the world observe May 1 as International Workers Day, a day to celebrate working people and the struggles and gains made by unions and the labor movement. Here in DC, May 1 is also recognized as DC Statehood Day, in recognition that DC will eventually  secure our full rights and political power when we are admitted as the 5/1st state.

The May Day Strong coalition is uniting people all over the country to take action on May 1 in solidarity with each other. This is the DC action of the May Day Strong network.

Events This Week

Mondays in April, noon EDT, Moral Monday Protest Against Unholy War in the Middle East

From: Repairers of the Breach

Moral Mondays are rising across the country as a visible, disciplined, and morally grounded public witness for love, truth, justice, peace, and the common good. With Washington, DC serving as the anchor and flagship site, local actions in states and communities are building a sustained national movement of clergy, advocates, partners, impacted people, and all people of conscience.

Join us in a season of moral resistance against the illegal unholy war in the Middle East. Complete this form to help us identify those who are ready to organize, participate, support, and grow Moral Mondays in their area while staying connected to the larger national witness.

The rapid proliferation of data centers comes at a significant cost to the environment and with a significant threat to democracy. In response, Actions Lab will be convening in Washington DC on April 21 at the prestigious Data Center World conference to demand a MORATORIUM ON THE APPROVAL AND CONSTRUCTION OF NEW DATA CENTERS.

Friday April 24, 11am-5pm EDT, End The Illegal War In Iran

From: 50501 DC & FLARE USA

We demand a new War Powers Resolution vote in Congress!

We will be having a short rally followed by a mass visit to Senate offices to conduct citizen lobbying in support of S.J. Res. 118 ( A joint resolution to direct the removal of United States Armed Forces from hostilities within or against the Islamic Republic of Iran that have not been authorized by Congress.)

We will flood the halls of Congress and make our voices heard! We will demand each and every Senator vote to end this war! We firmly believe that S.J. Res. 118 has the highest chance of passing and that is why we are choosing to focus on the Senate first.
