And, so we don't forget to have some fun, one of our social events...

Sunday May 10, 10am-noon, Ride for a Better Braddock Rd
From: Alexandria Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee
Ride along Braddock Rd to help rally support for new bike lanes and improved crosswalks at the May 16 City Council public hearing
The city has proposed to add new bike lanes and upgrade crosswalks along Braddock Rd from West St to Russell Rd by repurposing some underused parking lanes and travel lanes. Although the project was approved by the Traffic & Parking Board 6:0, project opponents have appealed to City Council to derail the project. Your voice is needed at the May 16 City Council hearing too (details).
Braddock Rd is a key east-west bike route, connecting Old Town and the Braddock Rd Metro station to two trails, Del Ray, Rosemont and beyond.
Riders of all ages and abilities are welcome, and we will wait to regroup if we get separated. We'll be riding on some busier streets with traffic, so everyone will need to be able to control their bike.
Where: 700 N West St, Alexandria, VA. We will meet in the parking lot of the Braddock Rd Metro station, by the Capital Bikeshare station.
