Dear all,
I would like to announce to all of you - users and developers of the
gr-gsm project - that it is now in the process of moving onto Osmocom's
infrastructure. I don't want to rush - I'm doing it in small steps in
order to limit inconveniences of the transition.
Currently main project repo is already moved to Osmocom's servers and
it's here:
https://git.osmocom.org/gr-gsm
There is also Osmocom's github mirror here:
https://github.com/osmocom/gr-gsm
The github repository of the project
(
https://github.com/ptrkrysik/gr-gsm) will stay, but it's role will be
limited to accepting pull requests and executing travis-ci tests.
Currently I mirror it manually (warning: history rewrites might happen!)
and as it's a bit inconvenient probably it will be mirrored
automatically in the future.
I have also prepared new wiki page that describes installation of
gr-gsm, that is available here:
https://osmocom.org/projects/gr-gsm/wiki/Installation
There are still many steps that are about to come, among them:
-moving gr-gsm's submodule repositories (examples and test-data) to
Osmocom's servers,
-writing refreshed versions of tutorials and putting them on the new
project's wiki,
-moving mailing list to the new address:
https://lists.osmocom.org/mailman/listinfo/gr-gsm
-moving tests to Osmocom's infrastructure.
Together with Vadim Yanitskiy we are also working on extending the
project to act as a transceiver for mobile phone, with Osmocom-BB
covering upper layers. It is already possible to register to a network,
send an SMS or make a call (non-hopping one at the moment). We presented
these initial results on last year's 34C3:
