Wide band scanner receiver

Dears,

Please i want your support as i am trying to build GSM and UMTS scanner to scan the BTS in the area and return information about all available cells 

I have some questions :

1)how can i show the block diagram of Gr gsm on GNU radio please.

2) i know gr-gsm has wider usage so is that will be simpler to remove and adapt some blocks to make it simple receiver for me.

3) there was a discussion between  Piotr and Ramon about the wide band receiver but i cannot find the app.

Please just give me the starting point with the blocks as it is not clear and i do not want to just insatlla it without understanding what is happening ...
