We are looking at your product for our business managing our remote employees daily duties using GQs.  I am hesitant to become a paying customer without some type of phone support but I am willing to see how quickly and effective posting my issue will get a resolution.

  • We have used the assignment feature to assign tasks to our employees and are having issues with the subtask displaying as subtasks on the iphone.  They are all displayed the same not identifying the main task and having the sub tasks listed under the main task.
I need a solution to this problem and would like to know the best way to handle the GQ platform for what I need to use it for Remote Employee Management

Hi Dustin -

When you assign a task to someone, only that specific task show's up in their Assignments queue.  Subtasks are not automatically assigned to the person.  If you want them to be responsible for some of the subtasks as well, those will need to be assigned individually.

In the example below, Allison will only see the "Plan Winter Conference" and "get keynote speaker" tasks in her Assignments queue.

If you want someone to be able to see the entire picture, it might be better just to share the queue with them in collaboration mode.

More details on sharing here:

Does that help?

We did assign them individually and they all showed up the same.  The subtasks were not under the main task.  I need to be able to assign these tasks and then have my manager be able to manage the employees based on them checking off the tasks

Ah, yes I understand now, Dustin.  In the Assignments queue all tasks are on "one level" - the hierarchy is not shown because not all levels of subtasks are necessary present as Assignments.

My recommendation would be to share the entire queue with your manager, so that person can see all of the tasks in their hierarchy, with the various assignments, just like you can as the owner/creator of the queue.

Cameron,

I have another problem.  I was just testing when an employee satisfies a task and when they checked it.....it dated it Nov. 21 rather than todays date

Users can set their timezone in Settings -> Calendar

If you hover your mouse over the completion date it will show the time as well.

Hi Cameron, it would be really cool to indent shared Subtasks to the next level. And why not?
To display subtasks on the same level kills the complete GQ-logic of GQ.
If just a subtask is shared it can be displayed on level one certainly.

And of cause, it would be very helpful to decide whether to share a task or share a task with associated subtasks.
Is this point on your roadmap and at which level?

If it takes time it would be very cool to get the possibility to Hyperlink the queue-path in assignments-view.
At the moment this path shows the text "open queue" at mouseover but this feature doesn´t work :-(

Thank you, Sascha
