Hello

I cannot find a subtask anymore after checking it off in the "task overview". Checking off sibling subtasks outside the task overview does not make them disappear. Steps to reproduce:
  • Create a queue for testing, example:
    • Task 1
    • Task 2
      • Subtask A
        • Subtask A1
      • Subtask B
        • Subtask B1
      • Subtask C
    • Task 3
  • Click on the magifier icon next to "Subtask B" (tooltip says "view task overview") (Remark: This icon is not consistently available and I cannot determine why, the reason looks arbitrary to me.)
  • In the "Task Overview", check off "Subtask B" (that is now at the top level) using its checkbox icon. Confirm the dialog.
  • You can observe that the whole subtask (B and B1) gets a grey shadow. Nothing wrong so far.
  • Click on the "back" arrow icon on top.
  • OBSERVED: Back in the queue, the subtask B has disappeared completely.
    • OBSERVED: Switching to "Archived", I cannot see the subtask B either.
    • DESIRED: Switching to "Archived", I can still see the subtask B.
  • DESIRED: Back in the queue, the subtask B is still visible, though checked off.
  • You can observe, that siblings A and C can be checked off in the queue and still be visible as checked-off.
My colleague who has beta search could now find the disappeared subtask (it is in a queue of his that he shared with me) and just un-checked it again to make it visible to me. I've then checked it off and it is still visible as 'done', as expected. Without his ability to search, we would have to re-enter the subtask anew.

Hi Felix -

Yes, completed subtasks are do not show up in the Archived section until all their parent tasks are completed to.

As you observed, completed subtasks can be seen in Task Overview while their parent tasks are still open.  Details here:

Clicking the task overview on the top-level parent task will show you all the subtasks, whether open or completed (the magnifying glass icon only appears on tasks that have subtasks).

You can adjust the "Checkmark Action" to also control whether subtasks are archived or just crossed off so they are easier to keep track of:

Hello

Your hint that the subtask is still visible within the parent's task
overview is very helpful, thank you.
