A few days ago it simply stopped syncing. Every sync fails. I have no idea why. While I use it mostly on my phone, I depend on its syncing with my calendar. Which, of course, it no longer does. None of the many items added today on my phone have shown up on my tablet. And items added on my tablet don't show up on my phone. New items added on my phone or tablet don't make it to the website and vice versa.

I did reset it yesterday and all was in sync again - temporarily - but if I am going to have to do this every time I make changes on one device, I am going to have to abandon the app, which would be a tragedy, as I am hugely dependent on it and have been for years. .

No response from tech support. Looking for alternative but would rather not have to.

Hi Ann -

I'm sorry for the trouble you've experienced.  It sounds like there are a couple issues going on here.

1. If your tasks with dates are no longer syncing to your Google Calendar, the best way to remedy this is to deactivate calendar integration and reactivate it.  This will delete the existing GQueues calendar and create a new one with a fresh copy of all your tasks with due dates.

2. Resetting your account with the mobile app is usually the best way to resolve syncing issues.  Another thing to check on your phone and tablet is that both have the time set accurately.  If times are off between devices, this can cause syncing issues between devices.  To check this, go to the Android Settings app -> System -> Date & time, and make sure the setting "Automatic date & time" is enabled.

Following up on this post -

It turns out there was a bug that occurred when a user edited a repeating task in the Android app by clearing the due date altogether (without explicitly setting it to not repeat first).  The due date was cleared in the database on the phone, but the repeating pattern was NOT cleared.  So when the app tried to sync to the servers, the sync failed, because the servers were being instructed to create a new instance of a repeating task that no longer had a due date (because that task was not actually a repeating task anymore).

Anyway, the issue should be resolved now.  If you open up the GQueues Android app on your devices and manually tap sync it should force the app to send and receive the latest changes between your device and the web.  Background syncing should also work properly again for you now, syncing your changes as you make them.
