Hi,

I'm new to GQueues, and very, very pleased with it. Here's a feature
request that doesn't seem like it would be too difficult to implement,
but would be immensely useful for me:

I use multiple calendars and multiple queues and there is currently no
way to integrate the two. Instead, it lumps all my queues together
into a single calendar. Would it be possible to create a new calendar
for each of (or at least some of) my queues?

I noticed this on the new features page:

"A special GQueues calendar is created for your Google Account to keep
things separated from your normal calendar events."

I don't understand the reasoning here. I would love to be able to
fully integrate, rather than "separate", my GQueues and my "normal
calendar events." If there are certain calendar events that just don't
belong on a task list, I can always just create a new calendar. But,
for my normal, everyday tasks/events, I would love to be able to see
them on both my calendar and my task list (i.e. queues), and still
keep them sorted in their respective queues/calendars rather than
being lumped together on a single calendar.

Like I said, GQueues is doing so many things right that it is easily
the best task list I have ever encountered. This feature would put it
off the charts. Thanks for all your hard work!

Hello Rusty,

I have had the same issue. But I have made the following workaround.
1. Create a GQueue account for every GMail account (and thus Calendar)
you have.
2. Let those couples of GQueue and Google Calendar accounts integrate.
3. Share your Google Calendars' GQueues to your main Google Calendar
account (you can rename the GQueue Calendars for distinction).
4. (optionally) share your GQueue's queues in collaborative mode to
your main GQueue-account.

There is just on problem I already have issued to the GQueue's
development team: date changes in collaboratively shared friend's
queues are not automaticaaly synced to the friend's Google Calendar
until that friend logs into his GQueue account.

Cameron,

I would still love to see this feature implemented (please see my
original post above). At present, I have integration with Google
Calendar enabled, but until I can integrate each Category or Queue
with its own calendar, the integration doesn't exactly fit my needs.

uniteam,

Thanks for the reply and the workaround. The problem I have is that I
use multiple calendars on a single gmail account. I don't want to
constantly be switching between accounts just to use multiple
calendars. The beauty of Google Calendar is the ability to see
multiple calendars in different colors all at once. Right now, the way
GQueues lumps all of my queues into a single calendar completely
strips away that great functionality. Sure, I can still have multiple
calendars in GCal, but there is no way to integrate these multiple
calendars with my multiple queues.

For example, I want to sync my "Work" calendar with my "Work" queue
(or my "Work" category).
I want to sync my "Life" calendar with my "Life" queue (or my "Life"
category).
I want to sync my "School" calendar with my "School" queue (or my
"School" category).
etc.

So, again, thanks for your workaround, but it is too clunky. Unless my
To Do management solution is extremely simple, I won't bother to use
it, and creating a bunch of gmail accounts and allowing collaboration
between them is way too complicated.

I'd love to hear your input, Cameron!

Thanks,
Rusty

It's been awhile since this thread was active, but I'd love the EXACT
same thing for the exact same reasons that Rusty mentions. The beauty
of Google is that all calendars are dumped into ONE view with
different colors for different source calendars. GQueues does a great
job separating to-do lists by color so my "work" list could be blue on
and my "life" list could be green IN Gqueues, but then when it goes
over to Google it's all dumped in the same calendar (and list and
color) and eliminates the beauty of that great separation feature. In
Google, I'd like to see one GQ calendar for "life" that is one color
that I share and integrate with my wife where we both collaborate on
and ANOTHER GQ calendar in Google for "work" with a separate color
that only I have access to.

Does that make sense?

Love the product and thanks for you're hard work on it!

I have been hoping for this feature a long time. I use GQueues to allow me to check off my monthly bills and show them on the calendar. But I would love to be able to have that Queue just for it's own calendar.

+1 for this!

+1 from me

At this moement I don't use any other google calendars - only gqueues and now it is getting really messy - I have only one color for my all tasks and events! Please think about adding, for example, diffrent calendars for each category.

Thanks,
Lukas

I would love the ability to have multiple calendars well.  Maybe there could be one default calendar that everything automatically gets assigned to, and then individual categories or queues could have the option to specify a different calendar name.  Then only those that the user chose would go on different calendars, there wouldn't be too much clutter, and it would still be as simple as clicking a single button for users setting the calendar up for the first time.

I agree. I would love to sync my separate lists with my separate calendars. Are there any plans to work on this?

Same here. I installed GQueues for the first time today and that's the first thing I thought about. That would perfectly fit my needs if I could set one calendar per queue.

Same here as well. Discovered GQueues today and it almost perfectly fits my needs. The last thing missing would be the multi calendar feature (one calendar for each Queue or Domain).

I have 5 calendars that I collaborate with different people.  I am looking for a solution where I have one queue/task/todo list that all my calendars integrate with.

Would love to have the ability to create a different calendar for some queues.
Having 20 queues and all the tasks in the same calendar, gets pretty confusing to look in the calendar, because the are all the same color

It has been over 7 years since this feature was requested. I'm guessing if it hasn't happened by now, it's probably not going to happen...

I am currently also disappointed that multiple calendars are not availalbe. This results in an unusable calendar integration of GQueues for my use case. I have just too many tasks with dates, i.e., displaying them all in the calendar is a pure mess. I have to select a subset for the calendar (optimally select in a tag if I want to see it in the calendar).

@cameroon: Please give us an update. Last year you were optimistic that it woudl be available soon, can you be more concrete?

Support for multiple calendars will be part of the "Team Queues" feature that is scheduled for development later this year.

Hi Cameron,

Great to hear this is coming. In fact, for most of my purposes, it would be sufficient if the colour of the event created in Google Calendar matched the colour of the queue in GQueues. I use colours to identify different calendars, and this would make it look as if the GQueues tasks were part of different calendars. Presumably, this is much easier that multiple calendars, and would not even require two-way sync: the colour of an event would be fixed by which queue it had originated in.

Hi Cameron,

I am also wondering if there is an update on this feature.  It is necessary for my company to continue using GQueues.  Do you have an estimated completion date for team queues?

Thank you,
Bree

Hi Bree -

Right now it looks like development work on Team Queues will start near the beginning of December.
