Today instead of checkmarks beside my completed tasks and events,
there is the code for the check/radical character instead: "√" .
So the completed items say "√ complete parcels" for example. Up
until today, checkmarks have displayed correctly. I tried uninstalling
and re-installing the Calendar integration but I still have radics.
Please advise, thank you.

Yes, I noticed this today as well. I think Google must have been playing with the calendar display for awhile. I refreshed my calendar a couple times and now everything seems back to normal with checkmarks for completed items. Is that the case with you as well?

Mine isn't fixed yet but I'm encouraged that yours went away. I'll
refresh periodically and see what happens. Thanks.

Okay, yes, it seems Google Calendar has permanently changed their rules on interpreting/displaying HTML entities (√ is the square root symbol which GQueues uses as a checkmark). I'm looking into other ways to get a checkmark to appear to deal with the changes they made.

I have fixed the issue with the checkmark on completed tasks in Google Calendar. To replace the √s with actual checkmarks just deactivate calendar integration and reactivate.

And thanks to John for the tip on switching over to unicode symbols instead of named html entities!

This also fixed the same problem with displaying the check mark in the
calendar app in Android. Thanks!
