I searched the forum and this seems to be a universal idea.  Whether for mass tagging or moving multiple inbox items to it's appropriate queue.  This would really help!  Maybe a keyboard combo or holding down ctrl while clicking multiple task items.

+1 on this for my work.   right now this is killing me as I imported over 1000 tasks from Toodledo, but they all need to be one by one processed adding tags and timing.  it would cut my time by half or more if i could simply go through the queue, select every task i wanted to have one tag, and change the tags for 50 tasks at once.  it is super monotonous right now to not be able to multi select.

+1!

I'm moving things from other places and being able to mass tag or move
things from one queue to another would be wonderful.

My workarounds for the time being:

for mass-moving between queues or mass deleting (e.g., when my first attempt to import failed):
make everything a subtask of the first task (accomplished quickly with down and right arrow keys), and then delete/move that top task.

For changing dates - I use the gcal integration to drag & drop between days. still one at a time, but faster I think than doing it in the GQueues interface.

I don't have a work-around for mass-tagging tho. Would be great to be able to accomplish this by doing a multi-select and then drag-and-drop onto a tag on the left nav.

Thanks,
K

I am a current paying subscriber and daily user of your good product. Being able to easily select/edit multiple items would be a vital upgrade.

If this functionality is added soon then I will be locked-in as a lifetime subscriber to GQues; I love everything else about it.
At this moment, unfortuantely, my eyes will continue to stay on the horizon for a more complete GTD list app.

Definitely need this! Just transferring over - Had used Astrid, tried Any.Do, tried TickTick, all sucked in my opinion. Just got the Pro version of Google Tasks yesterday, and it is a pain in the you know what to do all this by hand.

This looks close to being a very good GTD tool.  I don't like the idea of paying a yearly subscription of $25, but if it meant timely development of the tool, it might be justified.  I'm disappointed to see this crucial issue has not been addressed in the 2 years since the original post.  Hopefully it will be soon?

Hi Michael -

Taking actions on multiple tasks at once is still on the list of improvements to make, but it has not risen to the top of the priority list yet, so the work has not been scheduled at this point.

Here is the current roadmap:

If you're curious what other improvements have happened over the years you can check out this page:

Hi Cameron,

Thanks for the link to the Road map.  I just got started with GQueues and have been thoroughly impressed for the most part.  I have been looking for a good GTD task list for 7 years and GQueues has so much of what I have been looking for for so long.  I had previously been using freemind for my task management and to do list.  Although it served very well, it was becoming too difficult to keep it synced across multiple computers, and I didn't even bother trying to implement on my phone.  GQueues is snappy and powerful and I'm glad to see it being actively developed!  Thanks again,
Mike

+1 Would love to see this feature also!

Meanwhile, by using the keyboard shortcuts, I have managed to reduce the pain of adding tags to multiple items (at least for me).  For example, if I want to tag all items within a queue, I use the down arrow to move from task to task, and the "t" key to open the tag options.  Within the tag list, I use the arrow key again.

So basically this is the sequence:

  Down Arrow to select task
  T key to open tags
  Down Arrow to select tag
  Return key

Hope this helps someone else.  :)

Thanks for the comment, Sascha. This is exactly how I feel.

Less posting, more developing!

GQueues is a good software, but there is still a lot of room for improvement.
Editing/moving multiple items at once is essential... I can't believe, it's still not implemented :/

PS: I stopped following GQueues' Facebook Page over a year ago,

Thanks for the feedback, guys.  Yes, building out the team is a priority.  GQueues brought on a marketing person at the beginning of this year - which is why you see more posts on social media and then blog (I don't spend my own time on that).  A community outreach / support person will most likely be next, so I can spend less time on this forum, and more time implementing the great suggestions you all have.

Hey,

Firstly, not disputing the addition of this feature - it is much needed

However, I'm sure someone's mentioned it before ( https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/gqueues ) - if it was you please link your post

There are pretty easy workarounds (e.g. OS X) for grouping tasks to do things like deleting or transferring them to a new queue etc. Using the following keyboard commands ( https://www.gqueues.com/help/keyboardShortcuts ) this should get you going:
  1. Select task (click on task's number)
  2. Move task to top of queue (press 1)
  3. Add dummy [parent] task
  4. Move tasks to dummy subtasks (select task and press Right arrow)
  5. Transfer dummy task to new queue or delete
Screencast http://quick.as/P26GHB470

Hope this is useful

Hi Cameron,

You probably won't remember me but I was pro for a year or two back in the day, but stopped using GQueues because it didn't have a dedicated offline-capable iOS app. Now I see you have that as well as an Android app. Awesome!

I'm trialling GQueues again and have moved my tasks into it. I'll probably go pro again.

Question: do you have a way to mass select tasks yet? I need to move my imported tasks into their proper lists and don't really want to do it one at a time.

Cheers,

Christoph

Cameron, any movement on this? A lot of people want it, have been asking for it for a while. Last year it looked promising. Still not seeing it on roadmap and I'm at a point where I need GQueues to move forward with this feature and a couple others for it to have "matured" enough fo rme to use as a full-time. Can we get a status on it/

No.  Of course there is no movement on this.  Cameron works at a snails pace on whatever he thinks is interesting.  Not on what everyone wants. GQ has so much potential, with someone else leading.
