Hi,

I love the feature to add tasks from emails either via "Chrome extension" or "Gqueues for gmail". The original email link at these tasks are very convenient to access the emails.

This feature is only accessible with the web interface. However I would like to create tasks while I am using the Gmail app in my mobile.

I have done some research and find an IFTT recipe, to create a task when you star an email. Please see https://ifttt.com/recipes/132031-send-starred-emails-to-gqueues.

However, this recipe does not bring the original url of the email. I would like to see the new task with an original url link, like processed with the "chrome extension".

Can you help me with that, may be create a recipe for all of us to use?

In addition, if you create a recipe, it would be great to see to some custom variables, like this recipe; https://ifttt.com/recipes/216268-starred-gmail-todoist

Thank you in advance,

Very interesting idea, Doruk.

Starring an email in the Gmail Android app (or iOS app) as a way to trigger the creation of a task in GQueues could be really cool.  Or applying a certain Gmail label.

The IFTTT won't help very much in this case because the "Star email" trigger for Gmail in IFTTT does not provide the email thread ID, which would be necessary to construct a URL to the original email.

I'll give this some more thought though.  There may be a way to make this possible using the Gmail API directly.

Hi cameron,

Yes it would be a great feature. I believe, you will find a way to do it.

What about "zapier"? Will it help to get the thread ID ?

Thank you,

It looks like Zapier does supply the threadID.  But they don't have triggers for starring emails or adding labels.  They only have triggers for when you receive a new email.

Anyway, yes, I'll think about alternatives.

Yes! Yes! Please!
I would prefer assigning a label to the email in Gmail, but a star could also work for me, as long as I can identify emails that were sent to Gqueues as task

It would be great if labeling an e-mail in Gmail (web interface or mobile app) would generate a task in gqueues. It would be awesome if I could choose which labels would put the task in a particular queue. For example, labeling an e-mail "waiting for" would automatically put it in my "waiting for" queue. This would be particularly nice because I can label outgoing e-mails in gmail as well as the ones that have come in to me in my inbox. This would provide flexibility in assigning tasks from e-mails that I send as well as e-mails that I receive. Zapier does this pefectly for Wunderlist so I'm hoping it could be done for Gqueues as well.
