Hi there, I know there have been a lot of questions regarding hiding future tasks, and particularly reoccurring tasks.
My main, daily, to do Queue, contains many undated, do once items that may be on there for several days before they are done and also many reoccurring tasks that regenerate each time they are checked. this means the list can get very long and I have to manually sort through it each morning to identify the dated ones that are due today as opposed to future tasks.
I can organise the dated ones, from my daily list, using a smart queue with a date to the end of today, but the smart queue cannot give me these plus ones without a date. If I select the option "with or without dates" it gives no option to select the dates I want to see and just shows me the complete list including the future tasks.
Giving the option to select the desired dates, as well as showing tasks without dates, in a smart queue would solve this problem for me, and I suspect many others.
Thanks, Dave

Hi Dave -

You may be able to filter the tasks you desire using and Advanced Search saved as a smart queue.

See this blog post for more details on saved searches:

Based on the criteria you listed, I think the following search query will probably display the tasks you want:

dueDate <= [today] OR hasDueDate = 0

I also use both dated and undated tasks and don't want to see future dated tasks in the Queue. If I date every Task and make a smart Queue to filter future dated Tasks, then drag and drop feature is not available to reorder the tasks in the list.

Hello Cameron,

Your reply was a big help, thanks.

I'm new to GQueues and I'm having a problem with implementing your suggestion: In advanced search, to find all undated tasks and tasks that are due in the next 30 days, this works:

dueDate <= [+30 days] OR hasDueDate = 0

It matches about 30 tasks correctly. However, when I save the search, and click on the saved search, I get the response "There are no active tasks in this queue". Am I doing something wrong? See attached screen grab.

Hi Malcolm -

In the screenshot you attached the word dueDate is repeated twice at the beginning of the search query.  I believe this is the problem.  Remove the extra "dueDate" and you should be good to go.
