Help Lost tasks

Is there any way to restore tasks that disappear?  I spent 3.5 hours working on a project entering in task/subtasks, dates, etc, and poof half of them associated with the queue just disappeared as I was assigning dates and moving tasks.  This will be a big bummer if I can't find them, plus how I am assured that it's worth putting them back in again? Any suggestions appreciated.

Sorry for the issues, Jeff.  The missing tasks may have just been moved to an unexpected location.  If you let me know the names of a few tasks I can look for them directly in the database and see if I can locate them (you can reply to this email privately).
