Every time I get an email, I have to create a new task.  Is there any way to attach an email to an existing task?  Or how do I attach multiple emails to a task?

If you only need a link and not an attachment, it is very easy. Just copy and paste the url from the email window into your tasks notes. Voila, multiple emails linked to a single task. I do this all the time and it works great. This does not work if you are sharing your tasks and need people to see the email. Then you do have to create a new task, find the attachment in Drive, add it to the existing one and then delete the extra task you had to create. It is rather cumbersome.

Hi Chris -

Yes, the suggestions from Jess are spot on.

Right now the GQueues for Gmail extension doesn't have a built-in way to add emails to existing tasks.  It's a suggestion I've added to my list of improvements to make.  For now though, copying / pasting links may help as a workaround.

Another approach would be to create the new task out of the email, and then just make this a subtask of the task you wanted to add it to.

You can install the chrome extension, then when the email is open, check the box from web page, you can do the same from a contact, document, even a Google voice search

The new GQueues for Gmail Add-on that we are currently testing with beta testers will allow you to attach an email to an existing task. So this should be coming soon in the next several weeks.

Am I wrong, I think that it is not yet possible with the mobile app?

Yes, it's possible on mobile as well, Étienne.

1. Install the GQueues for Gmail Add-on:

2. Open the Gmail app on your mobile device.

3. Go to the desired email and open the add-on

4. Search for the existing task and attach the email, just like you would with the add-on on the web version of Gmail.

Thank you for your comment Cameron.

I wonder if it would be possible to add an email to an already existing task (by its id or URL).

Thank you.

Hi Étienne -

If you want to add an email by it's URL, probably the easiest thing to do is copy the URL and paste it into the task notes.
