Google's already released to production the new gmail browser client.  They now support a new plug-in architecture.

When will the chrome extensions support this new google gmail configuration?

Hi Stephen,

We're currently working on a Gmail Add-On for GQueues that will work in all browsers.  Unfortunately, we don't have an ETA at this point, but it's a high priority for our development team.

All the best,
Stacie

Ugh....this is killing me right now.  The chrome extension and the gmail extension are used by me all the time.

Please hurry!

BTW - only solution is to roll back to old version of gmail.  "Create Task" and the sort is still there.

Orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

You can use the new version, make sure you have the chrome extension plugged in, and then create the task from chrome itself which will take you to the original email.  The note is ugly, but it might be a workaround you can deal with.  FYI!

Hi Drew -

The day after the Gmail redesign came out we updated the GQueues for Gmail extension to work with the new design:

Does this help, or are you looking for different functionality?

That works for me.

Any plans to sync Google tasks into gQuues?

The new CheckBox U/I element in the new gmail u/i seems to function quite well. Thank you.

It doesn't really change much of anything as it relates to the functionality of what was in the old GQ's gmail u/i at all, just how to find the screen overlay form that looks just like the old form.  So it's familiar to any/all that used what was there before.

I think the core issue is a much larger one, that would likely entail a more significant piece of dev work, and that is to use ONLY the new gmail sidebar U/I plug-in architecture.   Right now google defaults to these three automatically included buttons - Google Calendar, Google Keep and Google Tasks.

I get users asking about using Keep vs. gqueues, and gtasks vs. gqueues.   Avid long term users of gqueues understand the SIGNIFICANT differences in the functionality of all of that, BUT...   google's nipping away slowly at those base features/functions.

I think it would be in GQ's best interest to have a GQ's gmail plugin sidebar-based app.

For example, in the new gmail U/I, there's that simple PLUS sign to add an app.  Tons of apps show up in that list of available sidebar plugins.    GQueues doesn't show up on that list.   Many/most of gqueues competitors show up on that list.   That is the problem.
