The new CheckBox U/I element in the new gmail u/i seems to function quite well. Thank you.
It doesn't really change much of anything as it relates to the functionality of what was in the old GQ's gmail u/i at all, just how to find the screen overlay form that looks just like the old form. So it's familiar to any/all that used what was there before.
I think the core issue is a much larger one, that would likely entail a more significant piece of dev work, and that is to use ONLY the new gmail sidebar U/I plug-in architecture. Right now google defaults to these three automatically included buttons - Google Calendar, Google Keep and Google Tasks.
I get users asking about using Keep vs. gqueues, and gtasks vs. gqueues. Avid long term users of gqueues understand the SIGNIFICANT differences in the functionality of all of that, BUT... google's nipping away slowly at those base features/functions.
I think it would be in GQ's best interest to have a GQ's gmail plugin sidebar-based app.
For example, in the new gmail U/I, there's that simple PLUS sign to add an app. Tons of apps show up in that list of available sidebar plugins. GQueues doesn't show up on that list. Many/most of gqueues competitors show up on that list. That is the problem.
