So far I am LOVING GQueues. It's so much better than what we were
using previously, is fast, and seems to be built exactly the way I
think and work, so it's so intuitive.

Quick question... I set up a queue for a project, and now that project
is done. I want to archive the queue in case I want to reference the
completed project tasks later on. I don't want the queue listed on
the left hand side of the screen... I already have too many queues to
leave completed projects on this list too. I see the option to delete
the queue, but of course I don't want to do this. The only other
option I see is to Archive all the tasks in the queue... but all the
tasks are already archived. I want to archive the queue too. Is this
possible? If not, how do other people work around this?

Many thanks!
Jeff

Hi Jeff -

There is no built-in "archive" functionality for a queue.  However, what I've done personally is just create a category called "Archive" and place queues there that I want to keep around, but won't use regularly.  I have this category collapsed most of the time so it doesn't take up space.

Cameron,

That's a great suggestion.  I think that will work!

Thanks!

Hi Cameron,

I have the same need. I think it would be great to have the option to archive though, even if your workaround is OK. I think the ability to archive would be better because I want to keep the queue under its original category so that I can find it easier in the future, rather than change its category.

For example, I have a category called "Entrepreneurship projects", and I want to simply click "archive queue" and hide it with the option to later search for archived queues in this category. Also, the ability to archive a queue would be great because then you can time-stamp the archive date and later search for archived queues sorted by the time they were archived (this would represent when projects are "completed").

I agree, Yusuf.  I would prefer to be able to archive a queue!

I would really like this function as well....in the meantime I'll just create the "archive" category and move them to there.

Best,

Hey,

Rather than deleting or archiving completed tasks have you considered transferring them to a template or reference queue (attached):
I use template tasks all the time to quickly initiate recurring tasks/projects

Hi,

For what it's worth, I wanted to chime in that I would also prefer to have a proper Archive functionality for queues, as the suggested workaround is not the most ideal solution for me too.

Thanks!

Hi Cameron,

I know this is an old thread, but I'm looking into doing this now (as my list of queues has grown significantly). I'd like to "hide" the queue but not lose all of the tasks associated with it (both archived and non-archived).

I may be missing something, but I'm not able to move my queue out of one folder and into another.

Can you help with this?

Thanks,
Matt

Wow, never mind. Drag and Drop. Not sure what my initial issue was.

Working now.

Hi Matt,

I'm glad you figured out how to drag/drop your queues to another folder to "hide" them when they're not in use. Let us know if you need anything else!

All the best,
Stacie
