[Feature request] template queues

Hello,

i thought about a feature that would be nice: template queues
Let's take an example.

Everytime i go hiking, i have a checklist of things i need to bring
along.
This list is static, but i have to make sure i have all the items
everytime i go hiking.
I would like to have a template queue from which i could generate an
instance of this queue.
The instance queue would behave like a normal queue, which means i can
tick items when done.

With this feature, i can generate an instance of my template everytime
i need it.

Great idea with the template queues.  I think you may be able to achieve this with the current functionality if I'm understanding you correctly.  Here's what I'm thinking:

1. Create your "template" queue just how you want and name it "Hiking Template" or whatever.

(if you have several of these you could put all the templates in a new Category called "Templates"

2. Every time you want a new checklist, use the "Duplicate Queue" feature to create a fresh copy

(This can be found on the queue menu - see this image for an example: http://www.gqueues.com/images/help/queue1_export.gif

3.  Check off items as necessary on the new copy, leaving the template as is, so it can be used for new, fresh copies.

Will this do the trick?

Cameron, along these same lines, in addition to being able to
duplicate a single item/task, would it be possible to allow us to
duplicate a tasks with all of its subtasks? It would be great if,
after a user clicks on "duplicate task," there is an option to
duplicate either the single tasks OR the task plus all subtasks
underneath it.

That's exactly what I'm doing! It's one of the things I love about
GQueues, in addition to the layout (navigation is good), colours,
speed (Ajax!), and thoughtful logic of how to make it both fast AND
powerful.
