Why can you not change the color of tasks in a individual Queue!

This seems like a no brainer. Why can't you do this? This would help add a visual organization to the main queue.
I have different types of jobs that I do but are all part of the main queue. So being able to color coordinate them would be great.
You would think that changing the tag color would physically change the task color in the queue in the main queue.
Maybe there's a way, but Ive seen a few other similar posts with no definitive answer. Any help out there?
Thanks, Mark

Why not separate out those tasks by queue and then run a smart queue to show you all of the tasks with whichever tags you are using - then set up that smart queue to be your default queue and you should have what you are looking for. The tasks would then be colored based on the type of task and your smart-queues display would have the separate colors. Just a thought.

Well the only issue I see with going about it that way besides having to handle all the work around, is subtasks. I couldn't have subtasks fall under the main task in a different queue the way they normally do, could I? I just think it would be nice and very easy to have a little drop down color selector on the end of the task by the tag, notes, delete icons. Then you could change the color at will. It could definitely come in handy, at least for me. I understand that the specific tag cannot change the color due to the fact that you can have multiple tags on a task.

I guess I'm not sure why you want to color subtasks differently than the parent task... the fact they are indented sets them apart from the parent.

I agree this would be very helpful. Especially since we do not have the option of creating sub-folders. I understand that this may not be first priority however I would love to see it in the future.

I also wanted to register my interest in this feature.

I use colors like sstop lights - green, yellow, red. i further make categories like stages or versions and then queues as epics so to speak and lastly tasks like stories (and sub-stories).  when something is red it means to me that it is inactive for any reason (blocked, not started, etc.), yellow means i am waiting, and green mean i am working through it. i want to apply this same approach to tasks. colour make it very easy for me to see what is blocked and what isn't.

if it would be possible to add this functionality i would *really* appreciate it.

Count me in for this feature. It would be great and really add to the overall experience! Also it would be great to be able to change font color, bold, italics etc...

Thanks for the great product.

+1 for being able to choose whether the task grab handles are colored by Queue color, Tag color (though, note they can have multiple tags), Context color (if we ever get contexts), or its own color...

Or at least be able to turn them off and on! They're beautiful when they're meaningful, but when I group by context (tag) the resulting jumble of colors is just visual clutter.

Thanks,
Curran

Same interest here. I'm considering changing task-application because of the impossibility to edit task colors
please keep me updated when it will be possible

Hi Isa,

Thank you for your message and for letting us know that changing individual task colors is important to you.  This is on our list of suggested improvements for the future, but I cannot say when it might be bumped to the top.  In the meantime, you can manually color-code tasks in your Google Calendar by right-clicking the task and selecting a new color.  I'm not sure if this helps, but I wanted to offer it up in case it does!

All the best,
Stacie

Stacie,

Unfortunately, this only allows you to color code the tasks in your calendar mode. This does not allow you to color-code, in any way, the tasks in your Gmail task list. At this time, the font, color, theme, etc. cannot be changed at all on the task list in Gmail. Therefore, when you have your Gmail inbox set to a dark theme or dark mode, the task list still shines a bright white defeating the purpose of dark mode. And there is no way to group tasks together or color-code them at all for organizational purposes.
