Hi all/Cameron,

Thanks for software

Hope you're well

I would like to understand how GQueues manages the following:

- bugs
- enhancements
- features
- help
- ideas
- questions
- suggestions

Correct me if I'm wrong, currently everything appears to be managed in this forum and with seemingly no organisational features (e.g. categories, tags) and long official support waiting times (contrary to other support channels I may say) this seems impractical at best and, dare I say, ignorant at worst

It's not for me to say how this forum should be used but I want to see features and enhancements given there own dedicated/formal space, where issues can:

have a single source of truth (i.e. duplicates handled/merged);
be voted up(/down) and prioritised, and;
be escalated to the roadmap[p] once they're popular enough (i.e. *in addition* to features the core team feels are equally or more important)

There's a real lack of respect/transparency about how feature requests are handled and with some requests on the forum being 5 years old that's a red flag for me - and should be for most users - when evaluating new software

If you're reading and:

- agree, then please up-vote and/or reply +1, or;
- disagree, then I'd love to know why?

Unless you specify a time frame, I'll follow up again in the near future and base my decision to keep using GQueues on whether this is addressed

If you have any issues (e.g. questions/queries) then happy to help

Hope this helps

Keep up good work

Look forward to reply

Yours faithfully

+1 on the principle
-1 about formulation

In complete agreement. It's frustrating to see features on the road map pushed down the list continually (i.e., bulk editing of tasks).  I've also been unable to recommend GQueues to several groups we consult with as a result also.

It would be great to see some kind of roadmap. I remain a supporter of GQueues, but would really like to see some enhancements in that roadmap -- like more complex AND/OR query statements and a refreshed UI, which is starting to show some age.

Hi Cameron,

+1

(May I add that this proposal is in the same spirit than the one I wrote on February 7th. Thank you Lewis Dexter Litanzios.)

FYI

One year on and no reply so, out of principle, after 7 years, I won't be renewing my subscription this year

Resolution of questions, help and bugs is good but ideas and suggestions is (IMO) bad and just seems to receive template answers (e.g. "I'll add this to my list"), rather than promote discussion, and seems to get thrown on a proverbial, privately managed, feature backlog

On the topic of features the roadmap currently has (just) one new planned enhancement/feature (i.e. actions on multiple tasks at once (bulk editing)). If there's a good reason for the roadmap scarcity then I'd love to know it but without that insight I just feel GQueues is stagnant in 2020 when there's undoubtedly a wealth of FOSS (i.e. free open source software) alternatives with a better productivity community.

Switching my system over to new software is something I haven't been looking forward to but the time is right

I hope this is useful

Regards

I share Lewis' sentiments.  I've used it for a number of years and have been waiting for bulk editing and managing workarounds in the interim (mostly due to the pain of "switching costs").  It has been promised and on the "road map" for years, but never materialized.  If it's not coming, please be up front about that with your customers.  It's both disappointing and disingenuine.

I'm sorry that I have to agree... Too many basic features postponed again and again, for too long; way too long...

I'll give GQueues a chance until the end of my subscription, but I'll prepare myself to be ready to leave if no serious and reliable commitment let me believe that there is a business cultural change happening in the next weeks or few months.

I'm so disappointed... When I registered, I thought GQueues was the solution I was looking for since so long. But, as Lewis expresses so well, every suggestion get some likely pre-formatted responses that let you feel your advice is important and considered, but, then, almost nothing happens, even after years. Many years...

I'll suggest again that you post a survey on your site and invite your customers to vote for their priorities. List all the suggested features you got for all that time and that are still not implemented, as well as those you have on your road map. Let people mark them from 1 to 5, for example, 1 being the top priority and 5 no interest. Then, publish the results, give us implementation target date and deliver the features in time.

Of course, everybody knows that you'll never be able to make everybody 100% satisfied at once. But if you show us that you really care, globally, about our needs, then, you'll have a full commitment from your customers.

I sincerely hope I'll not have to switch again to another platform.

Sadly I have to agree... while there's a lot of things I still like about GQueues, ongoing development seems to happen at glacial speed, and that does concern me greatly. It appears that it's just resting on its laurels from several years ago.
