Hello Alex,

Congratulations on your hard good work done!
I can see a download list at
https://launchpad.net/~gqrx/+archive/releases
where different Ubuntu/gqrx versions are mentioned like this:
... saucy5, ...raring5...quantal6... precise3 -not to mention the other items in the list.
I am to start with an empty HDD to install the adequate version of your complete collection.
At the moment I am using a Linux Mint 15 Olivia 64 bit version with Gnuradio V3.7 installed.
Formerly I used a 64 bit version of Ubuntu 13.04 with a former Gnuradio version but removed it and installed this Mint Olivia instead.
I guess ...quantal6 is the collection I need but I am not sure.

Rgds

Hi Andras

Linux Mint Olivia was released in July, so I assume it is based on
Ubuntu 13.04, which has codename Raring. However, I thought this
selection happens automatically. In a terminal you type:

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:gqrx/releases
sudo apt-get update

and it should automatically select the right version, import the
signature, etc. You should now see gqrx and GNU Radio packages in the
software manager or synaptic.
Note that the number after the codename is just a build counter for
the package and you do not put it anywhere

Hi Alex,

Your gqrx started at once and works well, indeed.
Perhaps the contrast of the waterfall is a bit difficult to modify, so the trace of weak signals can't be seen.

I wonder if gqrx can be used with gpredict.
If yes, please let us know how.

I use an FT-847 transceiver with Sat mode switched on and wanted to gather data sent by Masat 1, so I tried to start rgctld first (before starting gpredict) like this:
rigctld -m 101 -e /dev/ttyS0 -s 9600 -p 4532 &
I got horror: rig_open: error = IO error

The transceiver is often used under Windows 8 with UcxLog when CAT control works perfectly on COM1.
It would be nice to be able to use gpredict with my transceiver and with gqrx if possible.
Thank you for your hard work done with developng these software ans replying our uncountable E-mail messages.

I wish you best of all.

The scale of the waterfall is tied to the scale of the pandapter. So you can change that by moving the mouse to the vertical axis on the pandapter then when you see the cursor change use the scroll wheel to zoom and drag the axis for vertical pan.

There is no supported way to connect gqrx with gpredict in the current version.

Thank you so much for your reply Alex.
I am trying to engage my FT-847 with gpredict but in vain!
I start: rigctld -m 101 -r /dev/ttyS0 -s 57600 -t 4532 &
then gpredict.
What's wrong?
Excuse me for off topic!

I don't know.
Please check the gpredict archives - there have been lots of
discussions about full duplex radios, which ones work, which ones
don't, which software versions, etc. I don't have any of those so I
can't test. I recommend you try to configure it a receiver only and
take one step at a time.
