Will there be a binary of the latest 2.13.2 version ?

Haven't seen any recent .dmg that goes beyond the current 2.11.5.

Macports doesn't present anything either.

EOL for Macs ?

A new install of macports on High Sierra gets you version 2.12 of gqrx.

I have macports for High Sierra ( that's incidentally the OS I'm using here ) and I spent yesterday over an hour getting sooooo many dependencies, renewed and new ones ( the Pythons ) but no GQRX appearing in my Macports Folder.

Wasn't the command   [sudo port install gqrx]  ???

Thank you Dale, for refreshing my memory.

I’ve successfully ported Gqrx 2.13.00 on High Sierra with MacPorts. Before that, I had to reinstall MacPorts and QT5 since a first try produced only errors. It was a lengthy but error free process,

https://ports.macports.org/port/gqrx/summary - usig sudo port install gqrx

I tried to compile directly from Github but again, Cmake and QT5 gave out all sorts of errors before I give up.

Attempts with Brew were to no avail, for Brew it's still stuck to 2.11

Cheers,
Andy

Tried again with a new macports install for High Sierra. Selfupdate gives me a go.

But I get this at the end of a very short run of [sudo port install gqrx] :

--->  Computing dependencies for libgcc
The following dependencies will be installed:  libgcc10
Continue? [Y/n]: y
--->  Activating libgcc10 @10.2.0_1
Error: Failed to activate libgcc10: Image error: /opt/local/include/gcc/c++/algorithm is being used by the active libgcc port.  Please deactivate this port first, or use 'port -f activate libgcc10' to force the activation.
Error: See /opt/local/var/macports/logs/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_tarballs_ports_lang_gcc10/libgcc10/main.log for details.
Error: Unable to execute port: upgrade gr-osmosdr failed

Don't know what to try next.

Andy, what is the [Build Information] tab documenting ? Individuals having succeeded or failed to build their version ?

You need to do a compete uninstall of macports including deleting the folders -

otherwise the things left behind screw things up.

Aways get a new version of the install program -

and do a

sudo port -v selfupdate

before you start the install.

I have better luck if I install gnuradio first and then gqrx.

Hi Alex, I'm not too sure where I'm supposed to look for, but if you mean the tab at https://ports.macports.org/port/gqrx/summary  recent stats indeed don't look very favorable. The information is only updated to October 17th so I assume my own build is still undocumented.

But if the problem, like Dale Ranta says, is an old MacPorts configuration, I followed these instructions to reinstall it on my HIsh Sierra MacBook Air:

Hi Alex, just a short update. Having just now realized that Gqrx summary at ports.macports.org has been updated to version 2.13.2 (it was 2.13 just the other day) I've run a selfupdate/upgrade outdated procedure and it went fine. I've now installed Gqrx 2.13.2 and I'm delighted to see that in the configuration Windows the input rate options list includes the latest 912 kilobit/s rate introduced with the latest firmware for my Airspy HF+ Discovery (thanks Gqrx, MacPorts and of course Airspy).

Thank you guys, for all these useful tips.

Dale, thanks for pointing me to the uninstall page, was a good move to get rid of all the old "stuff" that was still there since the times where I had to go through macports and Qt to build earlier versions of welle.io.

Made me also realize that I'm far from being enough comp-savvy to go through all the hassle again, even if I'm not dependant on Qt anymore.

For now, I have a version of GQRX that works and serves well my radio hobby.
Think I might pass this time and wait for a plain dmg to appear ... maybe next year ? If I'm lucky to survive the second covid wave here in France.

Andy, I also saw the update of the install stats, now including attempted builds up to Oct 26th, with 2.13.2 as the target. Is your build listed now ?

Again, thank you guys for helping me out, although I'm not at all on your level of expertise.

With GQRX & welle.io, I have two excellent apps to play with. I shouldn't complain ... patience counts.

All the best & Stay Safe

alex

I couln't say Alex. The list at https://ports.macports.org/port/gqrx/builds jumps from October 17th to 26th and mine (successful I must assume, the program is there) happened on 25th!
Beats me.
