to Gqrx SDR

I use pisword up converter 1.3 with hackrf one , but I receive nothing. Forgive me but I know nothing about the settings of gqrx.With out the converter I can hear many fm stations , but with the converter even those disappear.Can you guide me through all the settings in gqrx to hear shortwave stations?
