I'm using GQRX 2.17.5, and piping in 32 MSPS IQ through a *named pipe. The waterfall and spectrum display look OK, but the demodulated audio / demod spectrum display is stuttering. I get a few hundred ms of audio, stuttered once a second.

No setting seems to change the behavior. This doesn't occur when opening a plain IQ file sampled the same way - that works very nicely.

Thoughts on if I'm asking too much for some component of the SW or system to handle a wide band live stream vs a file?

*used a standard named pipe as-is, and set buffer size to 1 MiB.

Apologies - I'm running on Ubuntu 23.10, Lenovo X1 Carbon Gen 9 (11th Gen i7), 32 GB RAM. I believe audio is running on PipeWire now, not pulseaudio.
The source is either a C file streaming out data into the named pipe, or a GnuRadio flow diagram using a fast random source, sink to the named pipe.
