osmo-fl2k Super cheap Transmitter and GQRX

I have purchased two of these OSMO-fl2k $8  transmitters and they work amazingly well.

It would be great if I could use GQRX with OSMO-fl2k as a transmitter.

The Wide FM transmission is perfectly clear and was very easy to make work in Ubuntu.

GSM and Digital television are also testable.

I am very interested in getting WSPR to work also as it would be a very cheap WSPR transmitter.

People are making adapters kits to provide output filtering to SMA connected antenna etc.

I think OSMO is going to be bigger than the RTL-SDR dongle.

Does gqrx even supports transmission in the first place, even with a definitely TX hardware like HackRF or USRP? The library that gqrx uses, gr-osmosdr does support transmission and it is in their plan that they will support fl2k sometime in the future

Hi Ignacius,

I agree that some of the open source receive software will have to play catch-up in this new low cost SDR receive and now low cost SDR transmit age.

Transmit and receive just opens up so many new hacking, hobbyist choices.

The quality of the $8 FL2K as a WFM transmission is very clear.

I have learnt an amazing amount about transmission with just a 100ma gadget.

Does any one know what Open source SDR software will transmit?

       gnuradio companion can transmit using the HackRF One and other transmit capable SDRs. You can set up the flow graphs for many types of transmissions using its building blocks.
