Firmware updates for Airspy HF+

On Airspy´s https://airspy.com/airspy-hf-plus/ there is an opportunity for Windows users to update the firmware for Airspy HF+ (just scroll the page down). 

Is there a similar opportunity somewhere for Ubuntu users? Or do I have to keep a Windows installation just to update the firmware to get new features for the Airspy? Or do these updates only affect SDR# and gqrx won´t need or use these firmware updates?

Hi Reinhold,

Regarding tools for updating the Airspy HF+ firmware, you have to ask
the project, but as far as I know only windows tool is available at
the moment.

https://airspy.com/downloads/hfplus_changelog.txt

suggests that 1.0 and 1.1. improve the linearity of the device and
should work better with all software. Later revisions add manual gain
controls, which are not available in gqrx, not yet anyway.
