Full Band UV HF RTL-SDR 100KHz-1.7GHz not tuning the HF bands

I have one of the these receivers and it works great except the GQRX won't let me tune below 23 MHz. Any ideas?

Yes, I'm afraid to say you have to document yourself a bit more to avoid this "issues"

To use HF you must run the sdr dongle in direct sampling mode "2" (Q branch). This is a setting that must be set as a device parameter.

Thanks for the info. I will try that later on today. Changing modes is not an issue. You have to do that with multimode radios anyway. I wish there was better documentation with some of this software. If I was younger, I would dig in and do just that..

I have tried to find where to do the direct sampling mode. I have looked everywhere I can find in GQRX and cannot find where to make this happen. Can you provide a bit more info on that?

Hi Dennis,

A search of this group's archives would tell you that in the device connection string you should enter "rtl=0,direct_samp=2" (without the quotes).

I don't have a device such as yours so cannot confirm this will work but it is a frequently asked question.

Thanks. It makes sense. I ran across a reference to that but I read it as replacing the rtl=0 instead of following it. As soon as I get home from the Emergency Room, I will give it a try and let you know.
